4-year-old Nadine was born with a Single Ventricle, a rare birth defect in which the lower chamber of the heart does not develop, affecting normal blood flow through the heart. It is one of the most complex pediatric heart conditions, requiring numerous surgeries which usually occur in three stages from the time of birth. The first stage is the Norwood procedure which was performed on Nadine soon after her birth at the Children’s Heart Center (CHC) at AUBMC, followed by the second stage referred to as the Glenn which Nadine underwent along with a heart catheterization before she turned 2 years old.

In 2022, Nadine was due for her Fontan surgery, the third and last of the staged operations performed to treat single ventricle defects. Nadine needed urgent financial aid.

With the support of Brave Heart’s goodwill ambassadors Lana El Sahely and DJ Rodge (Roger Saad), an online crowdfunding campaign was launched to raise the funds for Nadine’s surgery.
