Brave Heart Community
Our awareness programs aim at encouraging early detection and timely treatment of Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), as well as reducing taboos and social stigma surrounding it.
Brave Heart is the first and only fund dedicated to pediatric cardiac health in Lebanon. We take great pride in having helped save the lives of more than 4,700 children in the last 21 years, and contributed to nurturing their growth and empowering their future. We could not have done this without the support of our amazing community.
Through our awareness programs, we’ve managed to put the Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) issue on the map. Since 2006, in cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Brave Heart has run awareness campaigns, allowing us to reach almost half of the population in Lebanon.
This has had a significant impact on the awareness of CHD in the country, encouraging early detection and timely treatment, and reducing taboos surrounding CHD. For instance, we always try to show the “heart scar” as a positive sign of strength and courage in order to reduce the bullying and stigma that children with a scar have suffered from.
Our goal is to raise awareness within all age groups, and encourage children and the CHD community to become voices, activists, and ambassadors for the cause.
