Nour was diagnosed at birth with Tricuspid Atresia, Single Ventricle, a rare congenital heart defect otherwise known as "half a heart." It is one of the most complex pediatric heart conditions, requiring numerous surgeries which usually occur in three stages. Nour had her first open heart surgery at 6 months and was due for her Fontan operation, an expensive procedure and the last of the staged surgeries needed to repair her heart.

Nour’s father is a farmer with 5 dependents and cannot afford to pay for his daughter’s operation, an unfortunately common situation for underprivileged families who are struggling to survive in Lebanon’s economic crisis today.

An online crowdfunding campaign was launched to raise the funds needed for Nour’s surgery.
